First scientific experiment

According to their age, our kids should start kindergarten in September.  But since we are home schooling, and there are no set dates in life to learn stuff, Émilie and Tristan are flying through their kindergarten activity books and are always asking for more.

They found this outside yesterday and they immediately thought it was a caterpillar.

And since they had a horrible experience last year when they got a crazy itch on their hands from touching a caterpillar, they stayed away and told me about their find.

We carried the un-identified object inside the house and we used tweezers and q-tips and a magnifying glass to manipulate and observe it.  We didn't see any organs like eyes or a mouth.  It was all empty inside and didn't seem to have any legs.  So the kids came to the conclusion, after scientific observations that that thing was not an insect.  Probably just a piece of fluff....
